They said it was too unstable. Dottie said they lacked vision. Formula X wasn’t built for mass production it was born from a one-off special order, maybe military, maybe industrial. What survived were only a few spools and some hand-scribbled notes. The film is tight-grained with luminous midtones and punchy contrast, absurdly responsive to light in ways that feel almost unnatural. Unpredictable, yes. But when you get it right, you’ll capture results that look like nothing else in your archive.
